The family of a stabbing victim demanded, a day after the event, that police declare the incident a terror attack.

Shuva Malka, 18, the young woman stabbed in Afula Monday, remained in critical but stable condition Tuesday.

Her attacker, a Palestinian from Jenin, an Arab city in northern Samaria, was apprehended with a knife.

“I ask the police to make an announcement clarifying unequivocally that this was an attack perpetuated for nationalist motives,” Rabbi Gabi Malka, Shuva’s father, said in an interview with Army Radio.

“It is aggravating that so far this has not been done.”

Police had said that “all possibilities were being explored” regarding the motive for the attack. Later in the day, they declared the incident an act of terror.

Videos of the suspected terrorist’s arrest were quickly posted to social media by bystanders.

Malka said it was a miracle his daughter was been killed.

“Thankfully, she collapsed [from her wounds] precisely when an ambulance happened to be passing by, though nothing happens by chance and it was God’s will.

“The paramedics began treating her immediately. Despite losing a lot of blood, we are hopeful that her condition will improve.”
