Moshe Feiglin, former leader of the Jewish Leadership faction in the Likud, called for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s ouster in a Facebook post Thursday.
Feiglin make his remarks after media reports this week said that Netanyahu would conquer the Gaza Strip only if Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas was prepared to take it.
The prime minister was ready to send Israeli soldiers “to risk their lives in an impossible war in the alleyways and tunnels of Gaza, but the PLO terrorist [Abbas] refused to take Gaza into his hands, after our sons would have spilled their blood and conquered it for him from the Hamas terrorist.”
Feiglin called the scenario “simply insane.”
“On the assumption that the report is correct … the prime minister has lost all moral basis to continue to lead the State of Israel and every Israeli is obligated immediately to send him and his ministers away.”
