Turkish hackers claim responsibility after public announcement systems in multiple airports in the US and Canada broadcast anti-Israel, anti-Trump slogans.

Public announcement systems in at least four airports in the United States and Canada broadcast anti-Israel and anti-Trump slogans on Tuesday, after they were apparently hijacked by foreign hackers.
On Tuesday evening, travelers reported that PA systems at Harrisburg International Airport in Pennsylvania began broadcasting messages, recorded in an AI-generated voice, which included “F**k Netanyahu and Trump.”
The anti-Israel chant “Free, free Palestine” was also played on a loop.
A group of hackers who refer to themselves as “Turkish Hacker Cyber Islam” claimed responsibility for the takeover of the speaker systems, and included the message “Turkish Hacker Cyber Islam was here” in the unauthorized broadcasts.
Harrisburg International Airport spokesman Scott Miller confirmed to WGAL that the airport’s speaker system had been breached.
“An unauthorized user gained access to the airport PA system and played an unauthorized recorded message.”
Similar broadcasts were reported at Kelowna International Airport and Victoria International Airport in British Columbia, and at Windsor International Airport in Ontario.
Canada’s national air travel regulator, Transport Canada, confirmed the unauthorized broadcasts.
American Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy blasted the hackers behind the broadcasts and vowed that the Federal Aviation Administration would investigate the incident.
“This is absolutely unacceptable and understandably scared travelers,” Duffy wrote on X. “The FAA and I are coordinating with Harrisburg International Airport to help get to the bottom of this hack.”
According to a report by Fox News, airport security conducted searches onboard a Delta Airlines flight which was boarding at the time of the broadcasts, delaying the departure by 45 minutes.
Airport authorities shut off the speaker system to halt the broadcast.
In addition to the FAA probe, local police have launched their own investigation into the Harrisburg incident.
