Board of Peace reportedly laying out timeline of three to five months for demilitarization of the Gaza Strip, with President Trump expected to issue deadline in next few days for Hamas to begin disarming.

The Board of Peace has drafted a timeline for the demilitarization of the Gaza Strip, projecting that it will take three to five months for the coastal enclave’s total disarmament, according to a report published by Israel Hayom on Wednesday.
Last Thursday, the Board of Peace was formally established, and though it is still in the process of inviting potential member states, the board is already preparing for the implementation of the second phase of the Gaza peace deal, beginning with the disarmament of Hamas and other Gaza terror groups.
President Donald Trump is expected to lay out a deadline sometime in the next few days for Hamas to begin surrendering its weapons, following reports that Israel recently issued an ultimatum to the terror group demanding it completely disarm within two months or be disarmed by force by the IDF.
According to Wednesday’s report, Hamas will have only a short period of time to respond to Trump’s plan, facing a renewed IDF ground campaign if it refuses.
Should Hamas accept, however, a Palestinian police force trained by Egypt would be tasked with overseeing the disarmament process.
Hamas has repeatedly objected to the insertion of foreign troops into Gaza as part of the International Stabilization Force mandated by the United Nations Security Council last November.
The Palestinian force will not operate under the auspices of the ISF, the report said, but will instead serve under the authority of the newly formed National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, a 15-member technocratic body chosen jointly by Hamas and the Palestinian Authority and approved by the US and Israel.
