A Palestinian family in Gaza has killed one of its members after Hamas accused him of aiding Israel in the killing of three of the terror group’s commanders.
The family said in a statement that a relative shot Ahmed Barhoum Friday but did not say which family member pulled the trigger.
According to the statement, the family followed developments in the Hamas investigation and believed Barhoum was guilty.
The family noted the relative was arrested and interrogated by the “resistance,” meaning he was detained by Hamas outside the Palestinian litigation system.
There was no immediate statement from Hamas, an Islamic terror group which rules Gaza.
The Hamas commanders were killed near the end of the 50-day war in 2014 during an airstrike on a house.
Hamas has put to death at least 25 people sentenced under its judicial system since 2007 when it took over Gaza in bloody street battles. Hamas also killed 23 people without trials during Operation Protective Edge.
Rights groups have questioned the fairness of trials under the Hamas system and condemned it for its executions.
