‘Gaza war can end tomorrow’ – Israel endorses Trump’s new ceasefire plan

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar publicly endorses the Trump administration’s new proposal for a comprehensive hostage deal and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, adds that the war can end tomorrow if Hamas agrees to the terms.

Israel’s foreign minister announced Tuesday that Jerusalem has officially endorsed the Trump administration’s new proposal for a comprehensive hostage deal and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

During a joint press conference in Croatia alongside his Croatian counterpart, Gordan Grlić-Radman, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar announced that Israel “said yes” to the outline drafted by US officials that was presented to Hamas leaders last week.

Unlike previous plans, the new proposal calls for the immediate return of all remaining captives alongside a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

Sa’ar signaled Israel’s willingness to accept the American proposal, including the provision ending the nearly two-year war.

“The war in Gaza can end tomorrow,” Sa’ar told reporters, emphasizing that the deal would also ensure the disarming of Hamas and the removal of the terror group from power.

That, he continued, “ensures a better future for Gazans, for the Palestinians there.”

“As long as these terror states exist, as long as Hamas remains in power, the suffering on both sides will not end,” he added.

Few details of the American proposal have been publicized, including the number of Arab terrorists to be released, whether Israel will be required to withdraw from part or all of the Gaza Strip, and what mechanism would ensure that Hamas disarms.

Some media reports have recently claimed that the proposal mentions IDF redeployments within Gaza without explicit mention of a withdrawal.

On Sunday, a report by Israel’s Channel 12 claimed that the plan includes a partial IDF withdrawal from Gaza at the outset of the ceasefire followed by a 60-day window for talks on Hamas’ disarmament.
