‘Genocidal entity’ – Antisemitic UK doctor avoids suspension

The tribunal claimed that a “reasonable member of the public” would not be alarmed by Dr. Rahmeh Aladwan’s posts, which expressed support for Hamas and framed the October 7 massacres as an “act of resistance.”

A British doctor who promoted antisemitic conspiracy theories and openly supported Hamas on social media has been allowed to continue practicing medicine in the UK, sparking outrage from Jewish groups and government officials.

Dr. Rahmeh Aladwan, a physician working for the National Health Service (NHS), came under investigation after repeatedly posting pro-Hamas propaganda online and participating in Palestine Action protests, a group recently designated as a terrorist organization in the UK.

Aladwan has publicly claimed that a Jewish cabal controls the U.S. and Europe and expressed support for the Hamas-led October 7 massacres.

In one post, she alleged that “Zionists” view non-Jews as less than human and accused them of promoting “Jewish supremacy” in Western societies.

After a public outcry over her remarks, the Interim Orders Tribunal (IOT) launched an investigation and considered suspending her license due to the seriousness of the allegations.

However, the tribunal ruled on Friday that “a reasonable and fully informed member of the public would not be alarmed or concerned” by Aladwan continuing to practice medicine, and ruled not to suspend her during the course of the investigation, which will now proceed under a separate medical regulatory body.

The decision immediately drew criticism from senior UK government officials, including Secretary of State for Health and Social Care Wes Streeting.

“The racist language of ‘Jewish supremacy’ reflects the values of Nazis, not the NHS,” Streeting wrote on X. “I fail to see how medics using such language with impunity doesn’t undermine confidence in the medical profession. I have no confidence in our regulation system.”

Aladwan celebrated the decision in a series of posts on social media platform X.

“Free Palestine and Britain from Jewish supremacy,” she wrote, adding that “the British people are not the extremist and supremacist ‘Israeli’ Jewish public.”

She concluded by writing that “Britons actually want to keep their moral, principled, and ethical doctors.”

British Jewish advocacy group the Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) condemned the ruling in a post on X.

“This is an inexplicable and disgraceful decision — one that marks the UK’s continued descent into the abyss, as institutions that carry the responsibility for protecting people from extremists are seemingly bending over backwards to appease and turn a blind eye to them,” the organization wrote.

The CAA added that the tribunal had “failed spectacularly in its duty,” adding that the group was shocked by the move.

“It is staggering that it believes that a doctor who appears to defend armed jihad and violent attacks on Jews, posted a photo of a Hamas terrorist and described a hospital as a ‘cesspit of Jewish supremacy’ should continue” to treat patients, the CAA wrote.
