Scottish actor Gerard Butler, who is in Israel promoting his new film “Hunter Killer,” told Israel’s Mako TV about his warm feelings for the Jewish State, saying “I love Israel.”
This is Butler’s fifth visit to Israel. He remarked on the openness and friendliness of Israelis he met. “Even when I went to the gym or the sunglass store I would speak to people and feel like I’d always known them. You know, like we were already friends,” Butler told Mako TV.
Asked if he found it harder in the wake of BDS efforts to be pro-Israel, the star of such films as “London Has Fallen,” “The Bounty Hunter,” and “300” said, “All I know is I love Israel and I love coming here and I never worry for a pro- or negative view on anything.
In Butler’s film, set to open October 26 in the States, Butler stars as Captain Joe Glass of a U.S. submarine who discovers a secret Russian coup that threatens to overthrow Russia’s government and overturn the world order. He assembles a team to sneak through enemy waters, rescue the kidnapped Russian president and stop World War III.
