Vice President JD Vance slams alleged Israel-linked public relations campaign led by former Trump campaign manager against Iran memorandum of understanding.

US Vice President JD Vance has accused elements connected to the Israeli government of financing an online campaign intended to undermine the Trump administration’s negotiations with Iran and prolong the war.
Speaking during a nearly three-hour interview with podcaster Joe Rogan, Vance cited a Time magazine investigation into an alleged multimillion-dollar Israeli public relations operation led by Brad Parscale, President Donald Trump’s former campaign manager.
Vance said conservative influencers connected to the operation had attacked him over the memorandum of understanding reached between Washington and Tehran and promoted continued military action instead of negotiations.
;“There was this Time article that came out yesterday,” Vance said. “It lists a bunch of people who have been paid by a former Trump campaign person who was himself paid by certain elements within the Israeli government.”
Vance described the effort as a “very discreet, extremely well-funded campaign” aimed at derailing the negotiations.
According to the vice president, the campaign included coordinated social media posts and the leaking of claims to journalists portraying him as overly sympathetic to Iran or influenced by Qatar, conservative commentator Tucker Carlson and other foreign policy opponents of the war.
“They’re attacking me obsessively, saying that we should not be negotiating with Iran,” Vance said. “We should just keep the military campaign going indefinitely.”
Vance said he did not object to Israeli officials criticizing the agreement or attempting to persuade Americans to support their position. He argued, however, that foreign pressure became unacceptable when it influenced US officials or was used to dishonestly attack members of the administration carrying out Trump’s policy.
;“My response to that is: ‘Well, go to hell.’ I’m going to do what I have to do for the American people,” he said.
Vance accused unspecified figures inside the Israeli establishment of attempting to manipulate US public opinion in favor of an open-ended conflict.
“There are some people within their system, we know beyond a shadow of a doubt, who are manipulating and trying to change American public opinion to keep the war going on indefinitely,” he said.
The vice president nevertheless rejected the suggestion that Israeli pressure had caused Trump to launch the war against Iran. He said the president independently believed Tehran must be prevented from obtaining a nuclear weapon and that he agreed with that objective.
Vance also said Israel was not politically unified on the issue, noting that some Israeli officials supported diplomacy while others were strongly opposed to the agreement.
;The dispute follows a Time investigation reporting that Parscale’s company, Clock Tower X, had been hired through the international advertising company Havas to conduct an Israeli-funded campaign aimed at American audiences, particularly younger conservatives.
US Justice Department records confirm that Clock Tower X registered in September 2025 under the Foreign Agents Registration Act to represent the State of Israel. The filing listed Israel’s Foreign Ministry as the government branch represented by the company.
The documents described the work as strategic communications, planning and media services supporting a nationwide campaign against antisemitism. They did not state that the operation was intended to oppose Trump’s Iran policy.
Time reported, however, that Israeli officials also wanted the campaign to prevent younger conservatives from abandoning support for Israel. The operation was said to include large-scale production of social media content, work with conservative media outlets and efforts to influence information presented by artificial intelligence platforms.
The magazine reported that a Trump administration official became suspicious after several conservative influencers published similar criticisms of the Iran agreement at approximately the same time. The official reportedly collected screenshots and concluded that the posts were connected to the network surrounding Parscale.
;Parscale acknowledged that the broader campaign sought to maintain support for Israel among younger conservatives but firmly denied participating in an effort against Trump’s Iran diplomacy.
“I have never funded, organized, or participated in any effort to undermine President Trump — ever — including his MOU or ceasefire proposal,” Parscale told Time.
He separately rejected the allegation that he had coordinated efforts to extend the war, accusing anonymous administration officials of attempting to make him responsible for political opposition to the agreement.
Vance has played a central role in the administration’s attempts to negotiate an end to the conflict. He has argued that military pressure should support diplomacy rather than become an indefinite campaign to destroy the Iranian government.
During the Rogan interview, Vance said the administration was trying to deal with competing factions inside Iran. He described one group as pragmatists interested in continuing negotiations and another as hardliners seeking to retain Tehran’s leverage by threatening commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
;“We are on the right trajectory,” Vance said. “It’s just going to be really messy. There’s going to be a lot of starts and stops.”
The memorandum temporarily eased restrictions on Iranian oil sales and sought to reopen negotiations over Tehran’s nuclear program. Fighting later resumed after Iranian forces attacked commercial vessels, and the United States reinstated its blockade of Iranian ports.
