Hamas Nukhba prisoners making weapons in Israeli jails: Report

Hamas’s elite prisoners are secretly turning cell hardware into weapons.

By World Israel News Staff

Prisoners from Hamas’s elite Nukhba unit have been manufacturing homemade weapons inside Israeli detention facilities, raising fears they could attack guards and soldiers.

According to a report from Arutz Sheva, the terrorists have been using creative methods to turn everyday objects into weapons — transforming screws from bunk beds and other cell fixtures into sharp, deadly tools.

A member of Force 100 — a special prison unit trained to respond to emergencies — spoke with Arutz Sheva about the grave danger these weapons pose to Israeli security personnel.

Force 100 is “called in only for critical situations — incidents such as sexual harassment against a female soldier, or when there’s reasonable suspicion that a prisoner has obtained or is hiding a weapon,” said a member of the unit, identified only by the initial A.

He described the detainees as “extremely dangerous” and said every operation prioritizes saving the lives of Israeli soldiers and prison guards.

“When our intervention team enters, our only concern is protecting the guards — especially the female officers — and locating improvised weapons hidden by these terrorists. Every action we take is about preserving life: the lives of our team and everyone around us.”

A said his team, typically eight to ten highly trained responders, often finds “improvised weapons made from bed springs or screws they’ve dismantled” in the Nukhba terrorists’ cells.

Since the October 7 Hamas-led invasion, Israel has not prosecuted a single Gazan accused of participating in the massacre. Thousands of Nukhba operatives — Hamas’s version of special forces — have been held in Israeli prisons for more than two years without trial.

Israel previously declined a Trump administration offer to extradite terrorists believed to have murdered American citizens, who could have been prosecuted under U.S. law.

In October, as part of a ceasefire deal to secure the release of 20 living hostages, Israel freed approximately 1,750 Gazans arrested after October 7, all of whom were never tried for their suspected roles in the rape and slaughter of Israeli civilians.
