Hamas releases video of Guy Gilboa-Dalal, Alon Ohel on 700th day of captivity


The full recording also shows Ohel, though his family chose not to allow publication.

On the 700th day since Hamas’s October 7, 2023 attack on Israel, Hamas released new footage showing hostages Guy Gilboa-Dalal and Alon Ohel in captivity.

The brief clip of Gilboa-Dalal, authorized for release by his family, marked the first sign of life from him in six months.

In the 28-second video, dated August 28, 2025, Gilboa-Dalal identifies himself and says he is being held in Gaza City by Hamas’s Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades.

Appearing visibly distressed, with short hair and a dark blue shirt, he is seen in part of the footage sitting in the backseat of a car.

Speaking under clear duress, he appeals: “This is all we want, we just want it to end. We want to return to our families. Please bring us back.”

The full recording also shows Ohel, though his family chose not to allow publication. Both men were abducted on October 7, along with hundreds of others.

In a statement, Gilboa-Dalal’s relatives said: “We received a sign of life from our Guy after half a year since the last video where he was seen with Evyatar David, watching their friends be released” during a ceasefire in February.

They added: “Guy, Alon and other hostages were taken to Gaza and we fear greatly for their lives. We must bring them home.”

The release of the video, widely viewed as propaganda, came as Israel pressed ahead with its operation in Gaza City and as nationwide protests demanded an agreement to free the 48 hostages still in Gaza, at least 20 of whom are thought to be alive.

The last footage of Gilboa-Dalal had shown him with David during the February truce, forced to watch other captives freed while appealing to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

In early August, videos were released of Rom Braslavski and David, both held by Palestinian Islamic Jihad, in which the two looked emaciated and spoke of not having eaten for days.

In that clip, which sparked widespread outrage on behalf of the hostage, David appeared to be digging what captors told him was his own grave.
