Hezbollah member killed in mysterious blast

Who and what killed a senior Hezbollah operative?

By: World Israel News Staff

A member of the Hezbollah terror organization was killed in an explosion in the sea-side city of Sidon.

Lebanon’s Daily Star reported that the blast occurred at Sidon’s Haret Saida, and that the source of the explosion has yet to be determined.

China’s Xinhua news reported that man was killed in a gas explosion, possibly from a gas canister.

He was identified as Bilal Hassan Abdo, “a member of Hezbollah who was killed in a house accident,” the LBCI quoted Hezbollah sources as saying.

Other reports said the explosion may have been caused by munitions found in Abdo’s house.

Hezbollah and local security officials reportedly sealed off the area shortly after the blast.
