IDF catches 7 Turks sneaking into Israel from Jordan

Israeli security forces seized seven Turkish citizens after they illegally entered Israeli territory.

By World Israel News Staff

Seven Turkish citizens were caught by Israel Defense Forces trying to slip across the border from Jordan, the IDF said on Saturday.

The seven illegals hid during the night in an area south of the Dead Sea.

“To my understanding, these are illegal immigrants who came to look for work. This is not the first time. In recent months there have been three similar incidents. We’re not talking about smuggling or terrorist operations, but rather those looking for work,” said Tamar Regional Council’s Security Chief  Benny Ben Shimon.

Jordan’s Health Minister, Sufian al-Qudah, confirmed that the seven Turks crossed the border looking for work. He said  that they were not Jordanian citizens.

The suspects were taken in for questioning.
