“This should be only one of a list of actions needed to both punish and deter terrorists and wannabe terrorists,” said Chaim Silberstein, the murdered baby’s grandfather.

IDF forces on Wednesday morning demolished the apartment of Arab terrorist Salah Barghouti in the village of Kubar, in the area of the Binyamin Regional Brigade.
Barghouti and his brother Asim carried out a shooting attack at the entrance to Ofra in December, aiming at a group of Israelis waiting at a bus stop. Seven people were wounded.
One of the victims, 21-year-old Shira Ish-Ran, was in her 30th week of pregnancy. Her unborn child, also injured, was removed at a hospital but passed away a few days afterwards. The father, Amichai Ish-Ran, sustained injuries to his legs.
Salah Barghouti, 29, son of Hamas leader Omar Barghouti, was killed by IDF forces a few days after the attack while violently resisting arrest.
The demolitions of terrorists’ homes are meant to serve as deterrence for potential terrorists plotting future attacks.
“The IDF will continue to act in order to prevent terrorism and maintain security in the region,” the IDF stated.
Asim’s home was demolished last month.
“Although this comes four months late we are grateful and relieved that the IDF finally carried out this necessary action,” Chaim Silberstein, father of Shira Ish-Ran, commented on social media. “We hope that this will help increase the sorely needed deterrence of Israel against terrorism.
“This should be only one of a list of actions needed to both punish and deter terrorists and wannabe terrorists,” he added. “These actions include destroying the homes of accomplices and expelling the families and their helpers, preventing pay for slay payments, worsening of the hotel-like conditions in the prisons, and death sentences for convicted murderers. May Hashem avenge the blood of our grandson Amiad Yisrael and all the victims of terrorism.”
In related news, Israeli forces arrested nine wanted Arabs suspected of involvement in terror activities against Israeli civilians and soldiers.
In addition, soldiers conducting searches in Hebron seized tens of thousands of shekels in terror funds. Their activity is part of the ongoing campaign against assets used for terrorism.
