IDF eliminates armed terrorists in southern Gaza

Three of the terrorists were eliminated in the strike and a fourth was neutralized, removing the immediate threat.

Israeli forces operating in southern Gaza neutralized four armed terrorists on Monday after identifying them approaching troops in a manner that posed an immediate threat, the military said.

According to the Israel Defense Forces, soldiers from the 188th Armored Brigade’s combat team spotted the suspects near the Yellow Line security zone while conducting operational activity in the area. The four terrorists were observed moving toward the forces while carrying weapons, prompting an immediate response.

The Israeli Air Force, acting under the direction of ground forces, carried out a targeted strike shortly after the identification. Three of the terrorists were eliminated in the strike, while a fourth was neutralized, removing the immediate threat to troops operating in the sector.

Following the engagement, IDF forces conducted searches in the area and recovered weapons and additional military equipment. The military said the equipment was intended for intelligence collection on IDF activity in the area, underscoring the hostile intent of the suspects.

The IDF said forces under the Southern Command remain deployed in southern Gaza in accordance with existing agreements and will continue to act against any immediate threats to Israeli forces.

The incident comes amid ongoing uncertainty over the future of the fragile ceasefire in Gaza. According to The Wall Street Journal, Israel’s military is preparing for the possibility of renewed ground operations as Hamas continues to refuse to disarm and works to rebuild its military capabilities.

Last month, President Donald Trump demanded that Hamas comply with the Gaza peace plan and disarm within a short timeframe, warning that the group would face serious consequences if it failed to do so.

“If they don’t disarm, as they agreed to do, then there will be hell to pay for them,” Trump said.
