IDF soldiers at Beaufort Ridge (IDF)
The IDF has launched a major operation in southern Lebanon, crossing the Litani River and pushing deeper into Hezbollah territory in a bid to eliminate terrorist infrastructure threatening northern Israel.
Israeli forces are operating in the Beaufort Castle and Wadi al-Saluki areas, long considered key Hezbollah strongholds where terrorists directed attacks and launched hundreds of rockets at Israeli communities. The offensive follows extensive Israeli airstrikes and artillery fire targeting Hezbollah positions and Iranian-backed infrastructure.
The military said the operation is aimed at strengthening security for residents of the Galilee and Metula, while expanding operational control in southern Lebanon. The IDF indicated the offensive could broaden further as efforts to dismantle Hezbollah’s military presence continue.
