The IDF fired and apparently killed terrorists attempting to plant a mine on the Gaza border with Israel.

On Sunday morning, IDF troops spotted two terrorists approaching the security fence in the southern Gaza Strip and placing an explosive device adjacent to it. The troops opened fire towards them.
A hit was identified. However, the condition of the terrorists has not yet been confirmed. It appears they were killed.
The incident began when IDF observation posts spotted two terrorists approaching the border fence north of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip. They observed them place a mine near the border fence.
The IDF fired at others attempting to evacuated the terrorists’ bodies. The Army then sent an armored tractor to detonate the mine.
On Wednesday, in an unusual incident, a squad of Palestinian Islamic Jihad snipers shot at IDF soldiers on the Israeli side of the Gaza fence.
“A short while ago, IDF troops identified a sniper squad of the Islamic Jihad terror organization that fired from the area of Khan Yunis in Gaza at IDF troops inside Israeli territory. No injuries were reported,” the IDF said in a statement.
“IDF troops and the Israeli Police Counter Terrorism Unit (Yamam) identified the squad through observations and fired at it. A hit was identified,” a later statement said.
There’s no word on whether the latest incident will affect the recent easing of restrictions by Israel on the Gaza Strip.
