Police are investigating another stabbing attempt by a Palestinian terrorist, searching for a connection to other attacks.
Israeli security thwarted a stabbing attack against IDF soldiers at the Huwwara checkpoint, south of Nablus (Shechem), on Sunday morning. IDF troops shot the terrorist. There were no other deaths or injuries.
Identified by the Palestinian Health Ministry as 31-year-old Rami Awartani, the terrorist arrived at the checkpoint by car and then ran towards the soldiers with a knife.
Police are investigating the incident, an IDF spokesperson said.
Stabbings have become the most common method of attacking Israeli civilians since last September, when the socalled “knife intifada” began.
