IDF foils planned terror attack in Samaria

The terrorists who were actively involved in advancing terrorist activity and were planning an attack.

Israeli security forces overnight arrested a terrorist cell that was planning to carry out an attack during counterterrorism operations conducted by the IDF’s Ephraim Brigade, the military said.

According to the IDF, troops from the elite Duvdevan unit operated in several villages across the brigade’s area of responsibility.

In the village of Jiyus, Duvdevan fighters arrested four terrorists who were actively involved in advancing terrorist activity and were planning an attack.

In a separate operation, paratroopers from the IDF’s 890th Battalion operated in the villages of Kifl Haris and Deir Istiya, where they arrested three additional terrorists who had hurled rocks at a major traffic route.

The apprehended suspects were transferred to the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) for further interrogation.

The overnight arrests come as Israeli forces continue intensified counterterrorism activity across the area.

The IDF recently concluded Operation Five Stones, a two-week operation in northern Samaria, during which forces eliminated six terrorists, arrested dozens of suspects, carried out more than 30 airstrikes, and seized dozens of weapons along with hundreds of thousands of shekels in terrorist funds.

The IDF said security forces will continue operating to thwart terror threats and take action against anyone who harms or attempts to harm Israeli civilians or security personnel.
