IDF forces operating in Jenin attempted to apprehend a terrorist behind the murder of Rabbi Raziel Shevach.

Israeli forces raided the Palestinian village of Burqin, in the Jenin area, on Saturday, extending the manhunt for one of the terrorists behind the murder of Rabbi Raziel Shevach.
The operation represents Israeli authorities’ continuing search for Ahmad Nasr Jarar, not to be confused with the slain terrorist Ahmed Isma’il Muhammad Jarar.
Ahmad Nasr Jarar was apparently the leader of the terrorist squad and escaped previous IDF raids.
A large-scale force entered the village on Saturday, raided several homes and launched a search campaign, which is still underway.
“At the end of the week, and in recent hours, IDF troops from the Menashe Brigade, along with the Shin Bet (Israel’s Security Agency) and Border Police, arrested a number of suspects. In the last hours of the operation, some disturbances occurred and security forces responded with riot control measures,” the IDF stated.
The IDF announced that it arrested several suspects in the raid, who were then turned over to the Shin Bet for questioning.
Ynet reported that troops arrested four people during the raid, including two members of the Jarar family, which Israel’s Channel 10 identified as Jarar’s wife and father.
Local residents clashed with the soldiers, who used crowd control measures to disperse them.
One of the rioters was critically injured on Saturday during clashes with IDF soldiers and died of his wounds hours later, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced.
The ministry identified him as Ahmad Samir Abu Obeid, 19, from Jenin.
Jarar is one of the terrorists who carried out a shooting attack near Havat Gilad in Samaria in December, during which Shevach, a 35-year-old father of six, was murdered.
Ahmed Isma’il Muhammad Jarar, another one of the cell members, was killed a week and a half later during an exchange of fire between IDF Special Forces and the terrorists hiding in a building in Jenin. Two Israeli policemen were wounded in the gun battle.
During the operation last month, the Israeli security forces destroyed three buildings owned by the Jarar clan.
