IDF kills senior Islamic Jihad commander in Rafah strike

Abu Huli commanded Nukhba fighters, some of whom took part in the October 7 assault on Israeli communities.

By World Israel News

The IDF and Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) announced the elimination of a senior terrorist linked to the October 7 massacre, as Israeli forces carried out targeted strikes across the Gaza Strip in response to a recent ceasefire violation.

The operation followed attacks launched last week from eastern Rafah, which Israeli officials said constituted a breach of existing understandings.

During the strikes, Israeli forces killed Azem Abu Huli, identified as the head of the Islamic Jihad’s Nukhba unit in Gaza’s Central Camps Brigade.

According to the military, Abu Huli played a key operational role within the organization, overseeing the supply of weapons to terrorists and directing attack plans against IDF troops.

He also commanded Nukhba fighters, some of whom took part in the October 7 cross-border assault on Israeli communities.

Throughout the war, Abu Huli was involved in training terrorists for complex attack scenarios, including simulated kidnappings of Israeli soldiers, the IDF said.

Israeli officials described the strike as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist infrastructure and target terrorists directly involved in attacks on Israeli civilians and security forces, emphasizing that operations will continue against those responsible for planning and carrying out terror activity.
