IDF kills three Hezbollah terrorists in southern Lebanon

One of the Hezbollah terrorists also served in a Lebanese Army intelligence unit.

The IDF said Tuesday that it carried out a targeted strike in southern Lebanon on Monday, killing three Hezbollah terrorists involved in rebuilding the group’s military infrastructure and advancing planned attacks against IDF forces.

According to the IDF, the strikes took place in the Sidon area and eliminated a Hezbollah terrorist who also served in a Lebanese Army intelligence unit, alongside two additional terrorists, including one involved in Hezbollah’s air defense activities in the sector.

The military said the terrorists were engaged in efforts to restore terrorist infrastructure in southern Lebanon, actions it described as a serious violation of existing understandings between Israel and Lebanon.

The IDF stressed that it will continue to act decisively against Hezbollah elements seeking to rebuild terror capabilities along Israel’s northern border.

The latest strike came one day after the IDF confirmed that two Hezbollah terrorists were killed in successive Israeli strikes in the Yater area of southern Lebanon on Sunday.

The strikes come as a year-end deadline approaches for the Lebanese Armed Forces to disarm Hezbollah and assert full control over southern Lebanon under international understandings, amid continued Israeli warnings that it will not allow Hezbollah to rebuild its military infrastructure in the area.
