IDF Patriot missile shoots down Syrian drone over Sea of Galilee

Israeli Patriot missiles shot down a Syrian drone that infiltrated 10 kilometers into Israel’s air space.

A Syrian drone infiltrated Israeli airspace Wednesday and was shot down by a Patriot missile fired by IDF aerial defense units in the north of Israel.

The army is ordering all boats to clear out of the Sea of Galilee so forces can collect fragments of a drone that entered Israeli airspace from Syria.

The alarms sounded in the Golan Heights and the Jordan Valley were triggered by the unmanned aerial vehicle’s violation of Israeli air space.

The IDF spokesman confirmed that a Syrian UAV was intercepted by a Patriot missile.

“The UAV infiltrated the Israeli border from Syria, the IDF said.

“The Patriot aerial defense system identified the threat and tracked it until its interception. The IDF will not allow any violation of Israeli airspace and will act against any attempt to hurt its civilians.”
