An attempted terror attack was thwarted on Thursday morning in the Binyamin region.
“This was a planned ambush that ended in a miracle,” Binyamin Regional Council head Israel Ganz said.
“The Ranger vehicle provided just weeks ago to the farmers saved lives today. Farmers once again proved the vital importance of their presence in the open areas between the Jordan Valley and Jerusalem, defending our land. This is further proof that we must now complete the mission and apply sovereignty over all of Judea and Samaria.”
According to the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit, a terrorist opened fire at Israeli farmers near the Adei Ad area, close to the Malachei HaShalom farm.
After firing a single shot, the terrorist’s weapon jammed, leading to a physical confrontation with a shepherd, who managed to repel him using the Ranger vehicle.
The farmer was lightly wounded and evacuated to the hospital.
IDF forces are currently encircling the village of al-Mughayyir and surrounding areas in pursuit of the attacker.
The attack occurred on state land, roughly 300 meters from Route 458 (Alon Road), in an area that has seen several past attacks.
The terrorist is believed to have come from the village of al-Mughayyir.
