IDF forces in the Binyamin area early Monday morning arrested four Palestinians who operated the Hamas-affiliated al-Quds TV station.
The Palestinian official WAFA news agency identified the four as station head Ala Rimawi, Sami Ulwan, Husni Injass and Qutaibah Hamdan – all freelance journalists.
Al-Quds TV was declared a terror organization by Israel earlier this month, and the four suspects are being charged with incitement to terrorism.
The forces, working with Israel’s police and the Shin Bet (Israel’s Security Agency), also confiscated electronic equipment and a vehicle.
The TV station serves as a Hamas mouthpiece. Israel has been operating to shut down Palestinian media outlets and publications that incite against Israelis and promote terror attacks.
Israel maintains that one of the driving forces behind Palestinian terrorism is incitement by the Palestinian leadership and clergy through its state and local media.
Local Palestinian reacted to the arrests by rioting. The Israeli forces responded with crowd-dispersal means.
In related news, forces operating in the Palestinian city of Qalqiliya arrested five Hamas members for their efforts to generate terror attacks in recent months.
Forces from the Yehuda Regional Brigade raided the Hamas student group in Hebron universities. Incitement materials were confiscated, while the students’ families were given a warning and told to stay away from terrorism.
