Israeli soldiers seized a Hezbollah weapons cache in a school in the southern Lebanese area of Bint Jbeil, the Israel Defense Forces announced on Thursday.
Among the more than 130 weapons found were Kalashnikovs, pistols and other weapons, along with Hezbollah flags and other symbols of the Iran-backed terror group.
“The terrorist organization Hezbollah exploits the civilian population in Lebanon in order to carry out terrorist plots against the citizens of the State of Israel and IDF forces,” the IDF said.
Earlier on Thursday, the IDF announced that it demolished 70 Hezbollah sites in Bint Jbeil.
Bint Jbeil, a Hezbollah stronghold, is about two kilometers from the border and overlooks several Israeli communities.
On Sunday, Israeli forces raided a hospital in Bint Jbeil used by Hezbollah to store and transfer weapons, conduct surveillance, and even fire on soldiers.
