Israel’s military responded forcefully to a Wednesday morning missile strike on a Beersheva home by hitting 20 “military facilities” in the Gaza Strip hours later.
A second missile from Gaza landed off the coast near the greater metropolitan area of Tel Aviv.
Although Hamas denied its was behind the missile attack, the IDF is holding the terror group which controls the Gaza Strip responsible.
“There are only two organizations in Gaza that have this caliber of rocket: Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad,” said IDF spokesperson Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus. “It’s not difficult to narrow down who’s behind it.”
The IDF struck targets across the Strip, from the cities of Rafah and Khan Younis in the south to Beit Lahiya in the north. Among the targets was a terror tunnel, a weapons factory and a naval commando base. Palestinian media reported seven killed.
The Israeli Air Force also blew up a cell that was about to attack the Ashkelon region. The military released video footage of the strike.
