If ‘Obama had been as decisive as Trump’ my daughter may still be alive

Fox News reports that Kayla Mueller’s parents praised President Donald Trump for ordering the operation that led to the death of Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi. They also had sharp words for former President Barack Obama.

Sunday’s operation to take out the ISIS arch-terrorist was named after their daughter, Kayla, a 26-year-old from Prescott, Arizona who traveled to the Syria-Turkish border to help civilians in December 2012.

Kayla was kidnapped in August 2013 on the orders of Al-Baghdadi, and held for 18 months. She was raped during her imprisonment and eventually killed.

Fox News says that Kayla’s mother, Marsha, told the Arizona Republic that if “Obama had been as decisive as Trump” her daughter may have lived.

Carl Mueller, her father, told the Arizona Republic, “She was held in solitary confinement. She was tortured. She was intimidated. She was ultimately raped by al-Baghdadi himself.”

Fox reports that the Obama administration was blamed for moving too slowly in sending a 2015 rescue mission to save four prisoners held by ISIS. By the time U.S. forces reached the prison, the hostages were already gone.

Obama said the U.S. did everything it could to rescue the prisoners and former National Security Adviser Susan Rice denied that the approval process for the raid could have been faster, Fox reports.

The Daily Wire reports that Rice complained on Sunday that Trump hadn’t told Obama about the raid. “There is a tradition of common courtesy of presidents informing their predecessors of things of significance like this,” Rice said.

Kayla had visited other faraway places to help those less fortunate, including Judea and Samaria and India.

The Daily Courier, her local paper, quoted her in 2013 saying: “For as long as I live, I will not let this suffering be normal, something we just accept.”

The Muellers supported Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.
