Following the US-backed ceasefire with Israel, Iran has been turning attacks inward, blaming the success of Israel’s attacks on collaborators within the country.

On Wednesday, three people were executed in Tehran, and 700 were arrested, most of them on charges of espionage.

The three men who were executed were accused of colluding with Israel’s intelligence agency the Mossad by bringing equipment to assassinate a public figure disguised as alcoholic beverages.

Ben Sabti, an Iran researcher at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), described the situation in Iran to 103FM.

Sabti said, “There have been several executions in recent days – three yesterday and one the day before. They say they are finding more drone hideouts and drone factories. We don’t know what is real and what is not.”

“In Iran, they must engage in pretend action, exposure, and discovery. In actuality, they were not successful, but now, suddenly, a lot of spies are being discovered.”

Sabti added, “You won’t believe it. They’re holding concerts in the middle of the street. The regime is bringing the Tehran Philharmonic to the Grand Square, playing anti-revolutionary songs.”

There has been widespread speculation about the absence of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, but Sabti insists that he is alive and well, but hiding.

“No one has seen Khamenei, but he is alive and well,” he stated. “His office continues to release religious statements. We are entering a more religious month of Muharram.”

Sabti continued, “He will appear in one of the prayers or ceremonies that will take place in the coming days. This is part of the projection of Iranian power – as long as the leader exists, everything exists.”

“In recent years, Iran has sacrificed everything on the altar of hatred for Israel, but these are technical delays. He will reemerge soon.”
