After Iranian media affiliated with the IRGC pushes disinformation suggesting Israel’s prime minister was killed or injured, the IRGC vows it will assassinate the Israeli leader.

Iran threatened over the weekend to assassinate Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after semi-official media outlets promoted false claims made on social media that Netanyahu was killed or injured recently in an Iranian attack.
On Sunday, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said in a statement published by the IRGC mouthpiece Sepah News that Iranian forces will kill Netanyahu, while suggesting that the Israeli premier may already be dead.
“If this child-killing criminal is alive, we will continue to pursue and kill him with full force,” the IRGC said.
The IRGC has spread disinformation during the ongoing war with Israel regarding the fate of senior Israeli officials, including Netanyahu.
Last week, the Tasnim News Agency, which is also affiliated with the IRGC, published an article legitimizing false claims that Netanyahu was killed in a recent Iranian strike, listing five “indicators fueling speculation” regarding the “possible death or injury” of Netanyahu.
For example, the article cited the decision by White House special envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff and President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner to cancel a planned trip to Israel as evidence that rumors of Netanyahu’s death may be credible.
In addition, Tasnim noted that France did not provide details regarding the timing of a recent telephone conversation between Netanyahu and French President Emmanuel Macron, suggesting that the French government’s confirmation of the “alleged conversation” was false or misleading.
“These speculations have yet to be officially confirmed or denied,” Tasnim wrote.
Iranian media has also spread false claims that Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir (Otzma Yehudit) was killed in a recent missile attack, along with rumors that Netanyahu’s brother was injured or killed as well.
