Though unable to prevent Israeli aerial strikes, Iran’s Air Force chief vows Israel’s destruction following the IDF’s overnight attack on Iranian targets in Syria.

The tension between Israel and Iran has gone up a notch, daily newspaper Israel Hayom reports on Monday.
The head of Iran’s Air Force, General Aziz Nasir-Zadeh said that Iran’s military is “well-prepared” for the decisive battle that will lead to the end of Israel. “Our armed forces are well-prepared for the day of Israel’s destruction,” he said, according to Israel Hayom.
“Iran is ready to respond to all threats. Our enemies don’t have the strength to attack Iran directly,” Gen. Nasir-Zadeh said.
The Iranian Air Force chief made his comments despite that fact that Iran was unable to respond effectively to a nighttime attack by the Israel Defense Forces on Iranian targets in Syria. In the morning, the IDF Spokesman’s Office said Israeli warplanes struck military targets belonging to the Quds Force, a unit of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards tasked with carrying out unconventional warfare.
The IDF Spokesman’s Office said the military targets included warehouses for storing weapons, including one located at the Damascus International Airport, an Iranian intelligence center and an Iranian training ground.
Israel’s attack was in response to the firing on Sunday of a ground-to-ground missile fired by the Quds Force into Israeli territory. An Israeli Iron Dome battery intercepted the missile, Israel Hayom reports.
