‘Iran wants to incinerate US and Israel,’ declares US ambassador

Huckabee slams “mothership of Satan” regime in Iran, takes cover during missile attacks on Israel.

US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee said Monday morning that he was forced into a shelter in Jerusalem as Iranian missiles triggered alerts over the city, accusing Tehran and its proxies of seeking the destruction of both Israel and the United States.

“Iran fired missiles at Israel last night & early today. The missile alerts sounded at 6 a.m. in Jerusalem. They were intercepted thank God!” Huckabee wrote on X. “Iran & its proxy agents of evil want to incinerate America & Israel. Mothership of Satan is in Tehran.”

In a second post, Huckabee said he was taking cover as explosions sounded overhead.

“In the shelter now. Hearing loud booms overhead. Hopefully it’s the interception,” he wrote. “Another day we live under threat of crazed Iranian regime.”

He later posted a photograph of a smoke cloud from an interception over the embassy compound in Jerusalem.

“Source of the overhead explosion,” he wrote.

The comments came during the most serious flare-up between Israel and Iran since an April 8 ceasefire, after Iran launched missiles toward Israel and Israel responded with airstrikes on targets inside Iran.

The IDF said air defense systems were activated to intercept incoming missiles from Iran, with sirens sounding across broad areas of the country, including Jerusalem. Israeli officials said the missiles were intercepted, and there were no immediate reports of major casualties from the Iranian fire.

The Iranian missile fire followed Israeli strikes in Beirut’s southern suburbs, where Israel said it had targeted Hezbollah sites after rocket fire from Lebanon. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it fired ballistic missiles at Israel in retaliation, claiming to have targeted Israeli military infrastructure.

Israel then launched retaliatory strikes early Monday on military targets in central and western Iran.

The Israeli strikes marked the first Israeli attack on Iranian territory since the April ceasefire and targeted missile launch sites and other infrastructure, while explosions were reported in Tehran, Karaj, Isfahan, Tabriz and Kermanshah.

Prior to the Israeli reprisals, President Donald Trump called on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to hold off on retaliating for Sunday night’s missile attacks.

He also urged Iran to de-escalate the conflict with Israel and to resume negotiations with the US.

“What I would suggest to Iran: You’ve shot your missiles; that’s enough. Get back to the table and make a deal,” Trump told Fox News.
