Iranian general was killed in street chase, not airstrike, daughter claims

Mahdieh Shadmani says Israeli agents tracked and killed her father in a direct pursuit, contradicting Tehran’s official version of events.

The daughter of a top Iranian general killed in June says her father died in a street chase with Israeli agents, not an airstrike.

Mahdieh Shadmani made the explosive claim in a video posted Monday to Instagram, according to Iran International.

“Some might think my father was killed in an airstrike, but it was a direct chase with the Israelis,” she said.

The general, Ali Shadmani, was head of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters—Iran’s main war command.

He was officially reported dead on June 17. Iranian state media said he died from injuries sustained in an Israeli airstrike in Tehran.

But his daughter now says Israeli operatives hunted him down directly inside the capital.

The revelation, if verified, would deepen the embarrassment for Iran’s security services.

Israel is thought to have assassinated hundreds of Iranian security and military figures during the 12-day war last month.

Shadmani had been in his role for only four days. He replaced Gen. Gholam Ali Rashid, who was also assassinated by Israel, reportedly in a drone strike.

In a previous post dated July 4, Mahdieh Shadmani dismissed Iran’s claims that messaging apps such as WhatsApp compromised her father’s location.

“My father’s location changed every few hours,” she said. “He carried no smart devices or phones. Security protocols were followed, yet during his time commanding the war headquarters, he was repeatedly targeted for assassination by Israel.”

Her comments have angered regime loyalists.

One anonymous user on X warned that families of slain officials “should watch their mouth,” adding that “some control is needed over their speech.”

Iranian officials have issued conflicting accounts about the war’s toll.

On July 22, an Iranian analyst said Israel had sabotaged missile launchers and air defense systems across the country.

Israel’s strikes during the 12-day conflict reportedly killed hundreds of Iranians, including civilians, military officers, and nuclear scientists.

Iran retaliated with missile barrages that killed 30 civilians in Israel.

But the damage to Iran’s internal command network appears to be deeper than initially acknowledged.

If Mahdieh Shadmani’s claim is true, it suggests Israeli agents operated with near-total freedom inside Tehran and that Iran’s top war commander was eliminated in the open, not from above.
