The dissatisfaction is being expressed by both anti-regime demonstrators and members of the broader public, who have voiced concerns over economic hardship, damage to infrastructure and the aftermath of recent military operations involving the United States and Israel.

A major source of frustration centers on expectations that Washington would take a more active role in supporting anti-government demonstrations.
