Terrorist cell in Toronto linked to ISIS tried to kidnap local Jews and women with plans to rape victims and commit murder, police say.

A gang of terrorists linked to ISIS attempted to kidnap Jews and women in Toronto, Canada, authorities say, and plotted to rape and murder their victims.
On Friday, Toronto police announced that three local men were arrested for attempting kidnappings in the greater Toronto area.
The suspects were identified as Waleed Khan, 26, Osman Azizov, 18, and Fahad Sadaat, 19.
The three men have been charged with 79 offenses, including attempted kidnapping, sexual assault, sexual assault with a weapon, conspiracy, and possession of weapons.
Authorities say the three men attempted two kidnappings this year, and also were involved in separate terror plots.
In the first kidnapping attempt, which occurred on May 31st, the suspects held a woman at gunpoint and demanded she get into their vehicle.
When the woman screamed, the suspects fled.
On June 24th, the suspects tried to abduct two women they spotted walking in Toronto. When a bystander intervened, the suspects drove off.
Peel Region Police later connected the two occurrences and with the assistance of Toronto police, identified and arrested the suspects.
Toronto police said Friday that based on evidence collected during the arrests and raids on the suspect’s homes, the terror cell appeared to have been motivated by antisemitism.
“The evidence gathered expanded the scope of the investigation to include additional offences motivated by hate – particularly targeting women and members of the Jewish community,” the Toronto Police Service said.
“Investigators also uncovered links to terrorism, prompting a separate but parallel RCMP investigation through INSET. This led the RCMP to lay terrorism-related charges against Waleed Khan.”
Khan is said to have transferred funds to the ISIS terror group, and has been indicted on additional terror-related offenses.
Fifteen of the 19 hijackers who carried out the 2001 attacks were Saudi citizens.
