The terrorist who committed a massive vehicular attack in France on a national holiday was confirmed to be a Muslim criminal known to police, but relatives say he wasn’t religious.
The Islamic terrorist who killed at least 84 people and wounded scores more on the French Riviera by mowing down pedestrians with his truck on Thursday is a French-Tunisian criminal known to authorities.
Tunisian-born Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel, 31, used his huge delivery truck to carry out the massacre of innocent people who were enjoying Bastille Day celebrations in the seaside city of Nice. He was killed by police who shot him multiple times in an effort to stop the carnage.
The Huffington Post reports that he was described by relatives and acquaintances as a loner who became depressed after his wife left him. Neighbors said he appeared to be “aggressive and unstable.”
His wife’s cousin Walid Hamou told the online Daily Mail: “Bouhlel was not religious. He did not go to the mosque, he did not pray, he did not observe Ramadan. He drank alcohol, ate pork and took drugs. This is all forbidden under Islam…
