Israel hit by minor earthquake

A magnitude 3.7 earthquake in Lebanon sent tremors into Israel over the weekend.

Northern Israel was shaken by a minor earthquake Saturday night.

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre reported that the epicenter of the 3.7 magnitude quake was about 70 kilometers south of Beirut, in Lebanon.

People reported feeling the tremor as far south as Eilat.

There were no reports of casualties or damage resulting from the tremor.

One witness described his household appliances shaking for about 10 seconds.
