Israeli forces arrested two armed Palestinian terrorists on the border with Gaza early Tuesday morning as they attempted to infiltrate into the country
The IDF stated that troops identified two suspects attempting to infiltrate Israel from southern Gaza. The suspects, who were carrying a grenade and a knife, were apprehended near the border fence and transferred to security forces for questioning.
This incident occurred just hours after IDF forces arrested four Palestinians who had scaled the fence and attempted to enter Israel.
There were no injuries in either incident.
These latest events occurred amid the daily violence on the Israel-Gaza border, orchestrated by Hamas, the Islamic terror group that rules the Strip and calls for Israel’s destruction.
Hamas has organized a series of protests at the border under the “March of Return” banner. The terrorist group says the demonstrations will continue until May 15, the 70th anniversary of the State of Israel, which the Palestinians observe as Nakba Day, meaning Day of Catastrophe.
Some 30 Palestinians, mostly terrorists, have been killed in over two weeks of clashes on the Gaza border.
