Israel seeks to bar entry to and deport anti-Israel activists

Israel’s government has established an inter-ministerial team tasked with formulating a program that will track down and deport anti-Israel activists who have come to the Jewish State to cause damage.

Minister of Interior Security Gilad Erdan met with Interior Minister Aryeh Deri and relevant officials on Sunday and discussed the plan.

The team was tasked with deporting hundreds of anti-Israel activists already operating in the country, and will work to prevent the future entry of activists who operate for the BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) movement.

Dozens of organizations, operating under various covers, operate in Israel to collect information that is relayed to the BDS movement and used against Israel.

The BDS movement promotes financial, academic and cultural boycotts against Israel, ostensibly as a nonviolent struggle against the so-called “Israeli occupation.”

Critics say its activities are a modern form of anti-Semitism, and its true objective is to destroy the State of Israel.

The activists and anarchists also arrive in Judea and Samaria and incite the local Arabs to act violently against the IDF.

“The battle against the boycott movement begins with activists who arrive in Israel. We are obligated to do everything to dissolve the boycotts and say clearly that we will not allow the State of Israel to be harmed,” Deri stated, “the establishment of the task force is a correct step in that a direction.”

Erdan said this step was necessary to thwart the BDS activists’ “malicious intentions” and stop those who operate to “spread lies and distort the reality in our region.”

A legal team is slated to submit its recommendations to Erdan in the near future, and he has vowed to set them in motion.

“The boycotts against Israel must have a price,” Erdan stated.
