Israel to sell jet fuel to Germany amid Hormuz disruptions

Energy and Infrastructure Minister Eli Cohen and Foreign Minister Gideon Saar approved the move.

Israel has agreed to export jet fuel to Germany after Berlin formally requested assistance due to supply disruptions caused by the ongoing crisis in the Strait of Hormuz.

The Israeli Energy Ministry confirmed it has surplus production capacity that allows for the export.

Shipments will be coordinated directly with Israeli refineries, though the exact volume and schedule have not been publicly disclosed.

The decision is subject to the evolving security situation in the region.

Energy and Infrastructure Minister Eli Cohen and Foreign Minister Gideon Saar approved the move.

During his visit to Berlin on Tuesday, Saar personally informed German Minister of Economics and Energy Katherina Reiche of Israel’s willingness to help.

The Energy Ministry stated that a review found available surplus jet fuel for potential export, highlighting Israel’s ability to support allies during the current global energy strain.

Israel is also examining the possibility of providing assistance with natural gas supplies to Germany.
