Israel warns Hamas against any escalation of rocket fire from Gaza

Netanyahu and his defense minister said that Israel will not tolerate even a “drizzle” of rocket fire from Gaza, which is under control of the Hamas terrorist organization.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman reiterated Israel’s desire to act against even the most minimal of rocket fire from Gaza towards Israel.

“We respond to all fire at our territory, as we did today and as such we will do in the future,” Netanyahu said on Monday, referring to the IDF’s military response against Hamas targets after a rocket was launched from Gaza that morning.

The Hamas terrorist organization has controlled the Gaza Strip since 2007.

During a weekly meeting with his Yisrael Beitenu party, Liberman echoed remarks made by Netanyahu two weeks ago regarding Israel’s intention to respond to even a “drip-drip” of rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip.

“We have no intention to continue to absorb drizzles,” said Liberman. “We have no intention to initiate a military campaign in Gaza, but we also have no intention of being on the receiving end of sporadic fire. I recommend that Hamas take responsibility, establish order and calm down.”
