Israeli forces were successful in apprehending more illegal Palestinian weapons.
Israeli forces operating in the Samaria region on Sunday night seized illegal weapons and arrested two Palestinian suspects.
During a raid of a house in the Palestinian village of Assira Ashimaliya, the forces uncovered a handgun, ammunition, magazines and two gun sights hidden at various places.
On Saturday night, Crossing Authority security officials stopped an Israeli vehicle to be searched after the driver aroused their suspicion at a checkpoint in Samaria.
Security officials discovered a Beretta pistol and two full magazines, both of which were then confiscated from the vehicle. The driver was transferred to the Israeli Police for questioning.
These weapons busts are the latest among dozens of successful operations carried out by Israeli forces to stem the flow of illegal weapons traded by Palestinians.
Since the beginning of 2016, in a special effort to stop prolific Palestinian weapons production, Israeli forces have shut down some 45 plants in the Judea and Samaria region and seized over 50 machines and at least 450 weapons.
Security forces have arrested more than 160 suspects tied to the production and selling of illegal weapons that were used in many attacks against Israeli civilians.
In related news, IDF forces conducted counter-terror raids throughout Judea and Samaria overnight Sunday. They arrested eight Palestinians wanted in connection with terrorism and acts of violence.
