Israeli official confirms ceasefire deal with Hamas

According to the official, “if Hamas won’t stand by its obligations, Israel will restore the sanctions.”

After dealing with at least 24 fires in Israel’s Gaza belt due to incendiary balloons launched from Gaza, Israel has agreed to a ceasefire deal with Hamas, brokered by the U.N. and Egypt, a senior Israeli official told Army Radio.

According to the agreement, Israel will expand the Gaza fishing area to 15 miles, and dozens of boats that were banned after straying from the boundaries will be retured.

Israel will also resume the transferring of diesel via the Kerem Shalom border crossing, which had been closed earlier in the week due to the increased arson terror.

According to the official, “if Hamas won’t stand by its obligations, Israel will restore the sanctions.”

On Friday morning, however, at least four fires were ravaging the Israeli south after incendiary balloons were launched from Gaza.

“We have turned into a place where the enemy can do as he pleases, and if there’s a ceasefire agreement, it seems that the prime minister does not have to update us,” Gadi Yarkoni, head of the Eshkol regional council, stated, according to The Jerusalem Post.
