Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has postponed his planned visit to Azerbaijan next week, his office announced on Saturday, citing recent developments in Gaza and Syria as a key reason for the change in plans.

In a statement, the Prime Minister’s Office pointed to “the intense diplomatic and security schedule” currently facing Netanyahu.

Also, adding that the visit would be rescheduled for a later date, though no new timeframe was provided.

Netanyahu had been scheduled to travel to Azerbaijan from May 7 to 11, where he was expected to hold talks with President Ilham Aliyev.

The visit was seen as a continuation of the close strategic relationship between the two countries, particularly in the fields of security cooperation and energy.

Israel and Azerbaijan have long maintained strong ties, with Azerbaijan serving as a key energy supplier and strategic ally in the region.
