An Israeli policewoman, 34, was very lightly injured in a stabbing attack in Jerusalem on Thursday.
The incident occurred near the Western Wall in the Old City.
Numerous forces were called to the area and the suspect was captured near the Dung Gate.
“The injured person was walking near the Dung Gate fully conscious and with a minor hand injury. I gave her medical treatment which included dressing and at this stage she did not need to be evacuated to the hospital,” said one paramedic, Ynet reports.
Yesterday, a young woman, 21, was wounded in a terrorist knife attack near Modiin. The attacker, a 14-year-old Palestinian, was seized by Israeli Border Police who happened to be passing.
Coincidentally, Jerusalem announced on Tuesday that it decided to name the staircase leading into Damascus Gate of the Old City after the memory of two Border policewomen who died in recent years while trying to prevent terror attacks in the immediate area.
