Israeli security forces have arrested a large-size violent terror cell that operated in eastern Jerusalem and which is responsible for multiple terror attacks, the Shin Bet (Israel’s Security Agency) revealed on Monday

The terror cell executed multiple rock and fire bomb throwing attacks, several incidents of launching firecrackers at Israeli targets and arson.

They were also responsible for the torching of a bus that was caught in a riot in the area in September. They admitted during their questioning that after the driver fled the bus because of the rioting, they poured gasoline inside the bus and set it on fire.

They also admitted to blocking off streets with trash bins and cutting the electricity to draw in security forces, and then attacking them.

All of the terrorists, aged 16 to 22, are residents of the Ras-el-Amud neighborhood in Jerusalem. Two of them are brothers.

Five members have been indicted for attempted arson, arson, participating in violent disturbances, attempted assault of a police officer and assault and battery.

More terrorists are expected to be indicted in the future, the Shin Bet said.
