The Ramat Gan hospital has now appeared on the list for eight consecutive years and has remained within the global top 10 for seven straight years.

Israel marked a new high point in international healthcare rankings after Sheba Medical Center was named the world’s seventh-best hospital in the 2026 World’s Best Hospitals survey published Wednesday by Newsweek.
The Ramat Gan center’s placement is the strongest showing ever recorded by an Israeli medical institution.
“This achievement is emblematic of our ongoing commitment to transforming healthcare on a global scale, which has been recognized by our colleagues around the world,” said Prof. Yitshak Kreiss, Sheba’s director-general and CEO.
The annual survey, conducted in partnership with data firm Statista, reviewed more than 2,400 hospitals in 30 countries.
Hospitals were assessed using a combination of medical outcomes, peer recommendations, patient feedback, research activity, and the extent to which advanced technologies are embedded in clinical care.
Sheba’s latest result extends a long streak of recognition.

The hospital attributed the ranking to its focus on artificial intelligence, digital health systems, and precision medicine.
Other Israeli hospitals making Newsweek’s list were Tel Aviv’s Sourasky Medical Center at 58, Jerusalem’s Hadassah-En Kerem Medical Center at 157, and Petah Tikva’s Beilinson Medical Center at 165.
Sheba Medical Center also became the primary hub for Israel’s returned hostages, treating dozens freed or rescued from Gaza beginning in November 2023 and ultimately handling more cases than any other hospital.
Through its dedicated Returning to Life Center, led by Dr. Noya Shilo, the hospital provided comprehensive medical, psychological, and long-term rehabilitation care before closing its specialized ward after the final living hostages were brought home.
