Khamenei: There will be no ‘deal of the century,’ and no Israel

In another fiery speech, Iran’s supreme leader slammed both the US and Israel, as well as Muslim states that side with Washington.

Speaking to Iran’s Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization on Monday, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei gave a fiery speech in which he called the American administration’s as-yet-unrevealed Mideast peace plan a “satanic and vicious plot,” according to his Twitter feed, and declared that Israel would one day disappear.

The Shiite Muslim extremist leader vowed that Trump’s “deal of the century will never happen,” referring to the US president’s plan to settle the conflict between the Palestinians and Israel.

“To the dismay of the U.S. politicians, Palestine will never be forgotten and al-Quds [Jerusalem] will remain the capital of Palestine and the first Qibla of Muslims,” said Khamenei in another tweet.

As reported by Arutz 7, the 78-year-old cleric predicted Israel’s ultimate demise as well, predicting ominously, “They will see the day when the roots of the fabricated Zionist regime will dry up.”

Khamenei’s tweets are in line with comments he made before “Quds Day” a few weeks ago, which is a day of solidarity protests for Palestinians held on the last Friday of Ramadan.

Referring to Israel then, the Ayatollah said, “This Islamic land will certainly be returned to the Palestinian nation, and the superfluous and fake Zionist [regime] will disappear from the landscape.”

Khamenei has excoriated his two favorite targets – the “Zionist entity” and President Trump – innumerable times over the years, with his office often posting the pithy statements on social media. The frequency and intensity of the missives has been ramped up over the last several months, since the American administration began to walk away from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), also known as the Iran nuclear deal, at the end of last year.

Khamenei has not hesitated to get personal, calling Trump “foul-mouthed,” and “mentally retarded.”

In January, after blaming Trump for mass protests that erupted in Iran over the sorry state of the economy, Khameini said that Trump “seems to be a very unstable man” who has “extreme and psychotic episodes.”

Another a common charge the elderly cleric has leveled against Trump both before and after the pullout from the JCPOA is that of being a liar.

The American president has given as well – if not better – than what he has gotten, and Israel’s foreign ministry has also recently been successful in mocking the Iranian regime on Twitter.
