In a statement Friday, the Israel Defense Ministry reported that a Palestinian attacker neglected calls to stop and a security officer fired at him, killing the terrorist.
The incident took place at near Tulkarem, which is not far from Netanya. There were no injuries among the Israeli forces.
The Palestinians have ramped up violence in Judea and Samaria since 2015.
In addition to Hamas cells operating at the behest of the Gaza-based terror group, Palestinians are incentivized to commit violent crimes against Israelis with salaries furnished by the Palestinian Authority to criminals who engage in terror attacks.
The families of Palestinians killed committing crimes of terror are also rewarded with lifetime stipends.
Both Israel and the United States have passed laws attempting to halt the Palestinians’ use of foreign aid money and tax revenues to fund terror salaries and stipends.
