Israel’s defense minister said that North Korea is the international community’s greatest threat.
Addressing a conference at Netanya Academic College Tuesday evening, Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman said that North Korea, not Iran, currently presents the greatest threat to global and international security.
“North Korea stands at the top of the priority list,” Liberman said at the conference, held in memory of former Mossad chief Meir Dagan.
The defense minister referred to North Korea’s recent missile testing, which, he said, “seems to have crossed a red line.”
Recently, North Korea conducted tests on several ballistic missiles in contravention of resolutions passed by the United Nations Security Council, causing angst and concern among its geographic neighbors South Korea and Japan.
This past week, North Korea launched a test on a new high-thrust rocket engine, which Pyongyang claimed was for peaceful purposes and its space program.
